Overview

Blended fabric at Aarna Weaves

A blend is a commercial decision before it is a technical one. Poly-cotton buys you the hand and breathability of cotton with the strength, shrink control and colour retention of polyester — and, just as importantly, it insulates a repeat programme from the swings of the raw cotton market. That is why uniform, workwear and institutional buyers keep coming back to PC and CVC constructions rather than pure cotton.

Aarna Weaves supplies blended woven fabric from Surat in the ratios European buyers actually specify: 65/35 and 80/20 poly-cotton, 60/40 CVC, poly-spun and poly-lycra stretch. Polyester-rich constructions are woven in-house on our own water-jet looms; for cotton-rich CVC qualities we work with dedicated partner mills in our Surat network, under our own inspection and on a single invoice.

Why Aarna Weaves

Why buyers source blended fabric from us

Uniform and workwear programmes live or die on consistency. Shade has to match between the shirt run in March and the reorder in September; shrinkage has to stay inside tolerance after industrial laundering; GSM cannot drift. We manage that with lab-dip approval against your standard, 4-point inspection on every roll, and pre-shipment shade and shrinkage checks before goods leave the mill.

And because a blend can be engineered rather than simply bought, we can move the ratio, the yarn count or the finish to hit a target price or a target hand — a conversation that is much easier with a mill than with a trader.

Frequently Asked

Blended fabric — buyer questions

Which poly-cotton blend ratios can you supply?

The ratios we quote most often are PC 65/35, PC 80/20 and CVC 60/40, along with poly-spun and poly-lycra constructions. Other ratios can usually be engineered — the blend is set at the yarn stage, so it is a question of lead time and minimum quantity rather than capability.

What is the difference between PC and CVC fabric?

Both are polyester-cotton blends; the difference is which fibre dominates. PC is polyester-majority (typically 65/35 or 80/20) and favours strength, shrink control and price stability. CVC — chief value cotton — is cotton-majority (typically 60/40) and favours softness and breathability at a slightly higher cost.

Is blended fabric suitable for industrial laundering?

Yes, and it is one of the main reasons uniform buyers choose it. We test shrinkage and colour fastness against industrial laundering standards and can add easy-care and anti-pilling finishes. Tell us the wash protocol your end customer uses and we will specify accordingly.

Can you match a shade from a previous supplier's fabric?

In most cases yes. Send a physical swatch or a Pantone/colour standard and we will submit lab dips for approval before bulk. Approved standards are kept on file so reorders match the original run.

Do you supply blended fabric for uniform programmes in Europe?

Yes — uniform and workwear are among the strongest uses for this range. We export FOB or CIF to the major European ports with full documentation, and our Europe-based team manages approvals, reorders and shade continuity across seasons.
