Satin fabric at Aarna Weaves
Satin is a weave, not a fibre. Floating the warp across four or more picks before it binds gives the face a long, unbroken run of filament — which is exactly why satin catches light the way it does, and why the reverse stays matte. Get the float length, yarn denier and calendering right and you have a fabric with genuine luxury presence; get them wrong and you have a shiny fabric that looks cheap in photographs.

What types of satin fabric does Aarna Weaves manufacture?
Polyester satin, satin crepe (crepe-back satin), heavy and bridal satin, duchess satin, stretch satin and fine satin lining, roughly 55–250 GSM. Viscose-blend satins with a softer hand are also available.
What is the difference between satin and satin crepe?
Both have the same lustrous satin face. Satin crepe uses high-twist yarn in the weft so the reverse has a fine crepe texture and the fabric hangs with more weight and less slip. It is the usual choice for dresses and blouses where drape matters; plain satin is more common for linings and décor.
Can you digitally print on satin fabric?
Yes, and it is one of the fastest-growing parts of this range. We recommend striking off on the exact quality you intend to buy, because the same artwork reads differently on a 70 GSM satin than on a 140 GSM satin crepe.
What GSM is bridal satin, and can you go heavier?
Bridal and duchess satins typically run 150–250 GSM, where the weight gives the structure gowns need. Heavier constructions can usually be arranged — send the target weight and hand and we will confirm what our looms can carry.
