Overview

Cotton fabric at Aarna Weaves

European demand for cotton keeps rising, and increasingly it comes with conditions attached: OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 as a floor, GOTS where an organic claim is being made, and traceable documentation for the buyer's own compliance file. Meeting that reliably is less about finding cotton than about controlling who wove it and what evidence comes with it.

We are straightforward about how this range works. Our own looms at Kachhab are water-jet, which suits synthetic and polyester-rich constructions; pure cotton is woven on air-jet and rapier machinery. So our cotton programme is sourced through a vetted network of partner mills in Surat that we have worked with for years — but it is inspected to our standard, shipped under our documentation and invoiced by us, so you deal with one supplier, not four.

Why Aarna Weaves

Why buyers source cotton fabric through us

Buying cotton from India directly usually means managing several mills, several inspections and several sets of paperwork. Consolidating it through one exporter with a European-based contact removes most of that overhead: one specification conversation, one lab-dip approval cycle, one 4-point inspection standard, one bill of lading, one invoice.

It also means the compliance question gets answered before the order, not after. We confirm at quotation stage which certifications are available for a given quality and mill, so the certificate you need at customs is not a surprise at shipment.

  • 60–320 GSM across poplin, cambric, voile, twill and canvas qualities
  • Widths 58" / 147 cm and 63" / 160 cm for home-textile constructions
  • OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 available; GOTS for certified organic cotton
  • Combed and carded yarn options; mercerised and easy-care finishes
  • 4-point inspection applied to sourced fabric exactly as to our own production

Frequently Asked

Cotton fabric — buyer questions

Does Aarna Weaves weave cotton fabric in-house?

No — and we would rather say so. Our own mill runs water-jet looms, which are suited to polyester and polyester-rich constructions. Cotton is woven on air-jet and rapier machinery, so our cotton programme is sourced through vetted partner mills in Surat. We apply our own 4-point inspection, handle the documentation and invoice it ourselves, so you deal with a single supplier.

Can you supply GOTS-certified organic cotton fabric?

Yes, for qualities produced at GOTS-certified mills in our network. Because certification is issued per mill and per quality rather than per company, we confirm availability at quotation stage and provide the transaction certificate with the shipment.

What cotton constructions do you supply most often?

Poplin, cambric and voile for shirting and dresses; twill and canvas for trousers, jackets and bags; and wide-width percale for bedding. Weights run roughly 60 GSM for voile up to 320 GSM for heavy canvas.

Can cotton be combined with an order of our synthetic fabrics?

Yes, and that is the usual reason buyers use us for cotton. Polyester, spun, viscose and cotton qualities can ship together under one invoice, one bill of lading and one inspection standard rather than as separate transactions with separate mills.

Do you supply cotton fabric greige?

Yes. Greige (RFD) cotton is available for buyers who dye or print in Europe, and it is often the more economical route where local finishing capacity already exists.
